Charles Addington is the Director for the United States Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Office of Justice Services (OJS) in Washington, DC. Prior to Charlie’s appointment to the OJS Director position, he served as the Deputy Associate Director position for the Bureau’s Division of Drug Enforcement. Charlie led the BIA’s National Drug Enforcement program which is responsible for complex drug, gang, border, and human trafficking investigations effecting Indian Country. Charlie is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and has over 25 years of law enforcement experience, 20 of which has been in the management of Indian Country law enforcement programs. Charlie was selected to work directly on numerous high level initiatives, including the “Safe Indian Communities” and the “Protecting Indian Country” project.
