Entering into the holiday season can be stressful and full of anxiety for many, but for victims of domestic violence past and present, it can be especially taxing. With the added stress and increased incidents of domestic violence around the holidays, and being forced to spend family time with one’s abuser, the holidays can seem like the least wonderful time of the year for victims.

Casey Faulkingham, Community Response Team Leader for Partners for Peace in Bangor, Maine, is encouraging domestic violence victims to reach out for help during unsafe situations -even if it happens to be during the holidays.
