Last month, we celebrated Women’s History Month, an annual declared month which celebrates the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. Every March, we honor the ways women have spoken up, challenged expectations and been on the frontlines of change. We also encourage you to take the time to learn about women throughout history who have achieved greatness in every field of human endeavor.
Continuing to move the needle during Women’s History Month, on International Women’s Day, March 8, President Joseph Biden Jr. signed an executive order establishing a White House Gender Policy Council. This council will be tasked with helping push gender equity on future domestic and foreign policy efforts. Some of these efforts will include combating sexual harassment, addressing structural barriers to women’s participation in the workforce, decreasing gender wage gaps, and providing better responses to gender-based violence.
