What makes CCAW Summit: Beyond the Bounds different from the original Conference on Crimes Against Women?

The CCAW Summit: Beyond the Bounds is tailored to address crimes occurring in rural and resort communities – areas often overlooked in traditional training. These communities face distinct challenges, such as limited resources and transient populations, which can complicate investigations and victim support.

While the Conference on Crimes Against Women (CCAW) touches on these issues, we realized these attendees deserve more than a few breakout sessions. They need a dedicated space. That’s why we created CCAW Summit: to dive deep into the complexities of these environments and offer actionable strategies for professionals working in them.

Should I go to both?

Absolutely! CCAW is a comprehensive, large-scale conference that covers a wide spectrum of topics relevant to all communities across the globe. The CCAW Summit zooms in on the unique dynamics of rural and resort areas, offering specialized insights and tools.

Attending both gives you a well-rounded understanding to serve your community with precision and confidence.

What are the main differences apart from topics?

The biggest difference? Size and intimacy. CCAW welcomes around 2,500 attendees, creating a dynamic, high-energy environment. The CCAW Summit is capped at just 300 participants, allowing for personalized learning, direct access to speakers, and meaningful peer connections.

Plus, the Summit’s beachside setting isn’t just scenic, it’s strategic. Either at the beach or the pool, the Summit is known for its hands-on aquatic training that uses real aquatic-related equipment to learn best practices.

How do I know if this is right for my community?

If your community is rural, tourism-driven, or experiences seasonal population shifts, the Summit is designed for you. Whether you’re dealing with crimes that occur in isolated areas or those involving visitors who leave shortly after, this training will help you navigate the unique challenges these cases present.

Will there be opportunities to connect with others in the field?

With the Summit’s smaller size, meaningful connections happen naturally, but we take it a step further with our signature networking event: Ignite the Night. Held at a beachside pavilion, this evening celebration kicks off with a taco bar and free drinks during the first hour, followed by music from a live DJ and plenty of room to dance and mingle! And to top it all off, South Padre Island lights up the sky with a fireworks show over the water just for us!

How can I share what I learn with my team or community afterward?

Our speakers aren’t just experts, they’re mentors. They go beyond the podium, often sharing their contact information and offering follow-up support long after the Summit ends. That means you won’t just leave with notes – you’ll leave with real connections, ongoing access to guidance, and the confidence to bring what you’ve learned back to your team and community. Whether you’re planning future trainings or simply want to deepen your understanding, the support doesn’t stop when the conference does.
